Mendagri ready to merge Kemendagri data into Satu Data Indonesia
Tito pressed for stronger servers, bandwidth and cybersecurity to protect citizen data from leaks and legal exposure.
Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian said Kemendagri is ready to integrate its data systems into Satu Data Indonesia once the Satu Data Indonesia bill is completed. In a meeting with the DPR Legislative Body in Jakarta on Thursday, Tito stressed that the integration must be supported by strong technology infrastructure so the system is not easily hacked, slowed down or overwhelmed. He highlighted the need to strengthen storage capacity, bandwidth and personal data protection.
Kemendagri currently manages several systems, including SIAK for population data, SIPD for APBD, Siskeudes and Prodeskel. According to Tito, the population data managed by Ditjen Dukcapil now covers about 290 million people and changes every day because of births, deaths, relocation, marriages and divorces. He warned that any data leak could violate the Personal Data Protection Law.
