Mexico, Korea Selatan vie for Round of 32 berth in Guadalajara
The Group A winner could clinch an earlier knockout spot if República Checa and South Africa draw.
Mexico and Korea Selatan are both chasing a place in the Round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup when they meet at Estadio Guadalajara on Friday (19/6) at 08.00 WIB. Both teams have three points from their Group A openers. Mexico, one of the co-hosts of the tournament, started with a 2-0 win over South Africa on goals from Julian Quinones and Raul Jimenez. Korea Selatan recovered to beat República Checa 2-1 through Hwang In-beom and Oh Hyeon-gyu after falling behind first. A victory in the second match could secure a spot in the knockout stage, provided the match between República Checa and South Africa ends in a draw. Mexico will also be without defender Cesar Montes after his red card in the previous match.
