Manchester United reach £70 million deal for Carlos Baleba
Brighton will get £65 million up front plus £5 million in add-ons, with Baleba due for a medical this weekend.
Manchester United have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign midfielder Carlos Baleba in a deal worth up to 70 million pounds sterling. The package includes an initial fee of 65 million pounds sterling, a further 5 million pounds sterling and a sell-on clause for Brighton. The 22-year-old Cameroon midfielder is now free to undergo a medical at Old Trafford this weekend. Baleba is sidelined with an ankle injury sustained during Brighton's preseason training camp in Austria. If the transfer is completed, United's summer spending will rise to 153 million pounds sterling. Baleba is being brought in after United previously signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, amid a need to strengthen the midfield following Casemiro's departure.
