Manchester United bid £65 million for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba

Manchester United have made a £60 million offer plus £5 million in add-ons for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba as they push to add a third central midfielder this summer. The 22-year-old Cameroon international has agreed personal terms and wants the move, but Brighton value him above United's opening bid. Baleba was priced near £100 million last summer, though that figure has fallen after an uneven 2025-26 season in which he made fewer starts. He would join recent midfield arrivals Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos at Old Trafford. Baleba can play as a No. 6 and is seen as adding pace, ball-carrying and defensive range to Michael Carrick's squad ahead of United's Premier League opener at Hull on Saturday.
