Manchester City move for Bouaddi in £85m deal as Rodri nears Barca
What's next: Lille still must agree a fee, while Barcelona need to improve on a rejected €45m bid for Rodri.
Manchester City are pushing to sign Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi for about £85 million, a move that would smooth Rodri's expected transfer to Barcelona. The Guardian reported that Bouaddi, 18, has agreed personal terms with City, though Lille are still seeking €100 million for the Morocco international. Barcelona remain confident of landing Rodri, but City rejected an initial €45 million offer for the 30-year-old, who has one year left on his contract. A sale of Ferran Torres could help finance the deal. If completed, Bouaddi would join Elliot Anderson in a reshaped City midfield under new manager Enzo Maresca.
