Man United Women move on after Marc Skinner exits 1 month before season
What's next: United expect to hire a new coach quickly as the club prepares for the 2026-27 WSL campaign.
Manchester United Women’s senior players said the squad will stay united after Marc Skinner left by mutual consent just a month before the new Women’s Super League season. Captain Maya Le Tissier and midfielder Ella Toone said Skinner told players in person on Monday before the club made his departure public. Skinner spent five years in charge, leading United to their first major trophy in the 2024 Women’s FA Cup and into the Women’s Champions League knockout stage for the first time. United finished fourth in the WSL last season and missed European qualification. Le Tissier and Toone said they were not involved in choosing the next manager, but expect an appointment soon.
