Man City reject Barcelona’s £51m Rodri bid as Chelsea set deadline

What’s next: Chelsea want a £120 million bid for Enzo Fernández by 5 p.m. Friday or they plan to keep him.

Manchester City have turned down Barcelona’s second offer for Rodri, worth about €60 million (£51 million), as talks continue over the Spain midfielder’s future. Reports in the British press said City want roughly £60 million to £65 million for the 30-year-old, who is open to a move to Camp Nou. Chelsea, meanwhile, have given suitors until 5 p.m. Friday to submit a £120 million bid for Enzo Fernández, the midfielder City are considering as a replacement. The transfer activity could reshape City’s midfield before the season starts. The Guardian also reported City have agreed a deal to sell Tijjani Reijnders to Al Qadsiah for about €60 million, while Jérémy Doku signed an extension through 2031.
