The 13,000 tickets at 3Arena sold out in minutes, and the tour moves to Paris and London this week.
American rapper Macklemore opened his “Free Palestine” tour at 3Arena in Dublin on Monday local time, after he was dropped as an opening act on Ed Sheeran’s U.S. tour over pro-Palestinian remarks. Onstage, he said he would keep speaking out for the people of Palestine and waved a Palestinian flag throughout the performance. Fans packed the arena wearing keffiyeh, black-red-green jerseys and Palestinian flags; 13,000 tickets for the show sold out in minutes. Several musicians joined the lineup, including Hozier, Kneecap, Beoga, Palestinian singer Lina Makhoul and DJ Habibeats. The tour is set to continue in Paris and London, while U.S. concert dates are expected to be announced later.
