M5.0 quake shakes Ruteng, Manggarai, no tsunami threat
BMKG placed the epicenter 75 km northeast of Ruteng at a depth of 10 km; no casualties or damage have been reported.
A magnitude 5.0 earthquake shook the Ruteng area of Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, on Monday shortly after midnight at around 00.26 WIB. The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said the epicenter was at 7.93 south latitude and 120.50 east longitude, about 75 kilometers northeast of Ruteng. The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, making it a shallow event. BMKG said the quake had no tsunami potential. As of the initial report, there was no official information on casualties or damage from the tremor.
