LRT Jakarta Velodrome-Manggarai set to open August 26
Construction has reached 97.99 percent, with signaling due to finish by August 20 before the opening by the President.
LRT Jakarta Phase 1B on the Velodrome-Manggarai route is targeted to begin operations on August 26, 2026 after construction progress reached 97.99 percent. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said the opening date is still awaiting final approval from the Palace because President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to inaugurate the line. Pramono said the main remaining work is signaling at several points, which is targeted for completion on August 20. The new line will extend LRT Jakarta service from 5.8 kilometers to 12.2 kilometers with 11 stations, connecting Kelapa Gading to Manggarai. Jakpro and the Directorate General of Railways at the Transportation Ministry are still conducting tests on infrastructure, rolling stock, telecommunications, electricity and system integration before the line opens to the public.
