Lloyds survey finds 54% of UK firms say AI created jobs

What's new: A quarter of employers are hiring for AI skills and one in five are adding AI-specific roles.

More than half of British businesses say artificial intelligence has created jobs, a Lloyds survey found, signaling that companies are moving from testing the technology to reshaping hiring around it. The Lloyds Business Barometer, based on a July poll of 1,200 companies, found 54% said AI had led to job creation. A quarter of employers said they are hiring more candidates with AI skills, while 20% are creating new roles tied specifically to AI. The survey also found larger companies are pushing harder on training and investment: more than 70% of businesses with turnover above £10 million plan to increase AI spending to lift productivity.
