Laptop fire on American Airlines flight to Dallas injures 1

What's new: The FAA is investigating after crew members used a thermal containment bag and emergency crews treated and released one passenger.

An American Airlines flight from Atlanta landed safely at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on Friday after a passenger's laptop caught fire during the approach, prompting flight attendants to contain the device and emergency crews to meet the plane. American said Flight 2398 taxied to the gate under its own power after smoke was reported from a customer's device. The FAA said the crew reported a laptop battery fire aboard the Airbus A321 and is investigating. Air traffic control audio indicated four to five passengers may have suffered burns, but the airline and airport said one passenger was treated at the scene and released. The flight was carrying 133 people, according to CBS-obtained audio cited by the reports.
