Lampung Timur police investigate bullying of elementary pupil
The victim is receiving medical checks and psychological support, while local authorities counsel the victim's family and the children involved.
The bullying case involving an elementary school student in Lampung Timur is under police investigation after the video went viral on social media. The 4-minute 4-second recording shows the victim surrounded by several girls, subjected to verbal intimidation, pushed, grabbed by the hair and slapped. Kasat Reskrim Polres Lampung Timur Iptu M Iksir said the Unit PPA is tracing the people suspected of being involved and coordinating with the school. Police said the incident took place in Kecamatan Labuhan Maringgai. Antara reported the victim also lives in Labuhan Maringgai, while the video was said to have been taken in Kecamatan Melinting as the students were walking home from school, outside the school grounds. The Lampung Timur regency government is now providing health checks, psychological support and counseling for the victim and the families of the children involved.
