Lampung begins rice planting on 1,459.5 hectares of field program
In Tulang Bawang, 276 hectares have been handed over and entered first planting, with TNI assistance through harvest.
Lampung’s Rakyat Rice Field Program has entered the utilization stage after land handover and the first rice planting in Desa Ringin Sari, Kecamatan Banjar Margo, Kabupaten Tulang Bawang. Korem 043/Gatam Commander Brigadier General Sumarlin Marzuki said the 2026 program covers 1,459.5 hectares in three regencies: 276 hectares in Tulang Bawang, 371 hectares in Mesuji, and 812 hectares in Lampung Timur. He asked that newly prepared land not be left idle, while Kodim units are to continue assisting farmers from planting and care through harvest. He said the program is intended to increase food production while also supporting farmer welfare and food security in Lampung Province.
