KY proposes sanctions for 90 judges in first half of 2026

From 1,625 public complaints, KY also issued warnings to two judges and held six ethics hearings with MA.

Komisi Yudisial proposed sanctions against 90 judges found to have violated the Judges' Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct from January-June 2026. In a working meeting with Komisi III DPR in Jakarta on Monday, KY Secretary General Arie Sudihar reported that the agency received 1,625 public complaints over alleged judicial misconduct in the first half of the year. In addition to the sanction proposals, KY issued warnings to two judges. KY and Mahkamah Agung also held six hearings of the Honorary Council of Judges to follow up on alleged ethics violations. On prevention, 257 judges took part in training on professionalism, ethics code exploration and cyber law. For trial monitoring, 149 of 543 requests were followed up through direct observation and 85 through letters.
