Labuan Bajo port authority to sanction vessel carrying Jessica Mila group to Padar
The vessel had clearance only for Rinca, while routes to Padar and Komodo Port were closed August 7-10 due to rough weather.
Class III KSOP Labuan Bajo will impose sanctions on the vessel that carried Jessica Mila's group to Padar Island while sailing on that route was temporarily closed because of severe weather. KSOP Labuan Bajo chief Stefanus Risdiyanto said any vessel entering Padar without a Surat Persetujuan Berlayar will be penalized, including those carrying public figures. The closure applies on 7-10 August 2026 under Maklumat Pelayaran Number 02/MP-VIII/2026, based on a BMKG forecast from Stasiun Meteorologi Maritim Tenau Kupang calling for winds of up to 26 knots and waves as high as 2.6 meters. KSOP identified Yacht Grand Maloekoe and Kapal Neptune as suspected violators. Stefanus said the vessel used by Jessica Mila had SPB only to Pulau Rinca, which at the time was still considered safe.
