KSAD denies TNI removed SDN Wolomoni for KDMP project in Ende

KSAD Jenderal TNI Maruli Simanjuntak denied claims that TNI soldiers removed SDN Wolomoni in Desa Niawula, Kabupaten Ende, Nusa Tenggara Timur, to make way for construction of Koperasi Desa Merah Putih. After a meeting with Komisi I DPR in Jakarta on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Maruli said the idea of eliminating the school for a cooperative project made no sense because the school is already registered and such action could lead to legal problems. He acknowledged, however, that he did not yet know the full details and would check. The dispute surfaced after a viral video showed TNI members, the school building and an excavator. TNI information center chief Brigjen TNI Muhammad Nas had earlier explained that the cooperative was being built behind the school; when heavy equipment entered the area, one corner post of the building was pushed and later moved after coordination with the school and local government.
