KPK reschedules questioning of Maktour boss for next week
Fuad Hasan will be questioned as a witness in the 2023-2024 hajj quota case, where KPK estimates losses at Rp622 miliar.
KPK rescheduled the questioning of Maktour hajj bureau owner Fuad Hasan Masyhur for next week in the investigation into alleged corruption in the 2023-2024 additional hajj quota. Fuad previously did not appear for a June 2 summons because he was performing the hajj. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the witness side had conveyed that it would cooperate and support the investigation process. Investigators are examining allegations of lobbying to increase the special hajj quota beyond the 8 percent limit, which led the allocation of 20.000 extra seats to shift to a 50:50 split between regular and special hajj. KPK has named four suspects, including former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas and Maktour Operational Director Ismail Adham. Based on a BPK audit, the case is suspected to have caused Rp622 miliar in state losses.
