KPK probes land sale involving Anwar Sadad in East Java grants case

A private witness was questioned over asset transactions as Anwar Sadad again skipped questioning and seizures in the case reached about Rp22 miliar.

KPK is examining land sale transactions involving House of Representatives member Anwar Sadad in its investigation into suspected corruption in community group grant funds in the 2019-2022 East Java budget. The inquiry was carried out when investigators questioned witness Achmad Hadi Fauzan on Aug. 4, 2026. A day earlier, Anwar Sadad, who is a suspect, also failed to appear for questioning and will be rescheduled. KPK suspects that while serving as deputy speaker of the East Java provincial legislature from 2019-2024, Anwar received Rp1,5 miliar in bribes, about 1 kilogram of gold, payment of one house in Surabaya, and funding to set up an SPBE business in return for arranging Rp83,4 miliar in Pokmas grant funds. Another recipient in the case cluster is his staff member, Bagus Wahyudiono. Investigators have also seized assets belonging to Anwar and Bagus worth roughly Rp22 miliar to trace money flows and recover assets.
