KPK arrests Unsoed rector and two vice rectors in sting
The case involves alleged receipts tied to new-student admissions, and KPK has 1x24 hours to decide their legal status.
KPK arrested Jenderal Soedirman University Rector Akhmad Sodiq, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Noor Farid, and Vice Rector for Student Affairs Norman Arie Prayogo in a sting operation in Purwokerto on Thursday (20/8). KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the operation at the Unsoed rectorate involved alleged receipts by state officials in new-student admissions. Several reports said the case was linked to the medical school’s independent admission track. Along with the three campus officials, at least five others were detained, including a third party and a staff member. After questioning at the Banyumas Police headquarters, several of those detained were taken to Jakarta. KPK now has 1x24 hours under the Criminal Procedure Code to determine their legal status.
