KPK arrests Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro in July 28 sting
Under KUHAP, KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of Anom and others secured in the operation.
KPK arrested Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro in a sting operation on Tuesday (28/7) in Pemalang Regency. KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto confirmed the arrest but did not yet disclose the case involving Anom or the number of others secured. Under KUHAP, the anti-graft agency has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of those detained. Anom was elected in Pilkada 2024 with his deputy, Nurkholes, and was sworn in on 20 February 2025. A month earlier, on 16 June 2025, KPK held a corruption prevention coordination meeting with the Pemalang Regency Government and highlighted vulnerable points in budgeting, procurement of goods and services, and human resource management.
