Hanania Travel victims reach 1,286, losses hit Rp35.34 billion

Third-wave filing adds 620 more victims, while alleged fraud is now also reported to involve prospective special Hajj pilgrims.

The number of victims in the alleged fraud and misappropriation of pilgrimage travel funds by Hanania Travel has reached 1,286 people, with total losses of Rp35.342.293.500. The figures were submitted by the victims' legal team to Polda Metro Jaya on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, as a third-wave report. In this wave alone, there were about 620 additional pilgrims, with losses of Rp16.768.745.500. Joddy Mulyasetya Putra, the victims' lawyer, said the latest findings show the victims are not only prospective umrah pilgrims, but also prospective special Hajj, or ONH Plus, pilgrims. At least four Hajj victims were said to have paid down payments of about 5,000 U.S. dollars each, but had not yet received a quota number. The victims' team also submitted transfer records, invoices, digital messages, passports and visa documents to strengthen the investigation.
