KLH seals 19 companies tied to 11.046 hectares of fires
The cases span seven provinces, with 12 companies in Kalimantan and possible administrative, civil and criminal action.
The Ministry of Environment has sealed 19 companies in seven provinces suspected of being linked to forest and land fires covering a total burned area of 11.046,69 hectares. KLH/BPLH law enforcement deputy Rizal Irawan said the move is part of wildfire enforcement efforts from January through the end of August 2026. Twelve of the companies are in Kalimantan: seven in Kalimantan Barat with 2.260,08 hectares burned, three in Kalimantan Selatan with 6.595,15 hectares, and two in Kalimantan Tengah with 99,40 hectares. The rest are spread across Sumatera Selatan, Lampung, Riau and Kalimantan Timur. KLH is still verifying in the field whether the land was deliberately burned or merely located in areas that burned. Cases are being prepared for administrative sanctions, civil lawsuits and criminal charges.
