Khalid Basalamah admits staff paid US$354.500 to KPK in hajj trial

Prosecutors also detailed an additional US$200 ribu seizure in the hajj quota case involving four defendants, including former minister.

Khalid Zeed Abdullah Basalamah admitted at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court that his staff deposited US$354.500 into the KPK escrow account in the alleged corruption case involving the 2023-2024 additional hajj quota. The owner of PT Zahra Oto Mandiri, or Uhud Tour, appeared as a witness for four defendants: former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Ishfah Abidal Azis alias Gus Alex, Maktour Operations Director Ismail Adham, and Asrul Azis Taba of the Kesthuri Association. At the hearing, prosecutors also traced another seizure of US$200 ribu through a BNI transfer, which Khalid confirmed. Prosecutors said the case allegedly caused Rp622,09 miliar in state losses and unlawfully enriched several parties, including 313 Penyelenggara Ibadah Haji Khusus.
