Kevin Keegan dies at 75 after stage 4 cancer diagnosis

Kevin Keegan, the former England captain and manager who starred for Liverpool, Hamburg and Newcastle United, has died at 75 after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, his family said. Keegan revealed the diagnosis in June, after his family disclosed in January that he was undergoing further evaluation for ongoing abdominal symptoms. One of the most decorated players of his era, he won the Ballon d'Or in 1978 and 1979 and helped Liverpool win three league titles and the European Cup. After retiring, he managed Newcastle, Fulham, Manchester City and England. Newcastle called him one of the most influential figures in the club's history, while England said it would honor him at Wembley in September.
