Kevin Keegan dies at 75 after battle with stage 4 cancer

Kevin Keegan, the former England captain and manager who starred for Liverpool, Hamburg, Southampton and Newcastle United, has died at 75 after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. His family said he died surrounded by his wife and daughters seven weeks after he disclosed the illness publicly. Keegan was one of English football's most decorated players, winning the Ballon d'Or twice and helping Liverpool become European champions. He later managed Newcastle, Fulham, England and Manchester City, and remained one of Newcastle's most beloved figures for his impact as both player and coach. Newcastle, Liverpool, Hamburg, the Football Association and Manchester City paid tribute. England will mark his life before its UEFA Nations League match against Spain at Wembley on Sept. 26.
