Defense Ministry targets 2 reserve battalions in each regency

The Defense Ministry is targeting the formation of two reserve component battalions in every regency in Indonesia. Deputy Defense Minister Donny Ermawan Taufanto said the target is being prepared so the TNI in the regions can more easily obtain additional personnel for military defense duties. The plan was announced after the closing of the first wave of Komcad ASN basic military training at Lanud Halim Perdanakusuma, East Jakarta, Friday, 5 June 2026. Donny said about 1,700 ASN have now officially become Komcad, along with 500 ASN from Sulawesi Selatan. The ministry is now preparing the second wave of latsarmil in August 2026 and opening participation to ASN from both the central and regional governments.
