Kemensos speeds up Sekolah Rakyat, land title required
Kemensos says about 4 million children are still out of school, while Subulussalam construction is 74 percent complete and due July 14.
The Ministry of Social Affairs is accelerating the Sekolah Rakyat program, but it is asking all regions to continue following the existing budget and administrative procedures. Deputy Social Affairs Minister Agus Jabo Priyono said the faster pace is needed because about 4 million children are still not in school, especially from poor and extremely poor families. For permanent school construction, Kemensos requires proof of land legality. Aceh Singkil regency has been asked to bring the land certificate this week so the process can move forward, with the permanent school targeted to stand this year. In Subulussalam, physical work is already in the final stage at 74 percent and is scheduled for completion on July 14. In a meeting in Jakarta on July 9, Indragiri Hulu also reported updates to DTSEN, with targets of 50 percent of the population by September and 100 percent by December 2026.
