Kemenperin to assist small industries with 2026 halal mandate
Small firms facing hurdles will get help through Kemenperin and BPJPH coordination to simplify certification procedures.
The Ministry of Industry is preparing assistance, facilitation and outreach so small industries are ready to meet the halal certification requirement that takes effect on Oct. 18, 2026. Deputy Industry Minister Faisol Riza said large industries generally face no major obstacles, but some small industry players still need support in the certification process. For that reason, Kemenperin is strengthening coordination with the Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal so requirements do not send applicants back and forth among agencies. Faisol said a more integrated system could speed up services and make it easier for small businesses to meet the rules without disrupting operations.
