Kemenhan seeks Rp195 trillion more, 2027 budget target Rp334 T
The 2027 indicative ceiling is only Rp139 trillion, down from the 2026 budget of Rp187 trillion, and Komisi I DPR backed moving the proposal to Banggar.
The Ministry of Defense has proposed an additional Rp195 trillion for 2027, bringing the total budget request to Rp334 trillion. The proposal was submitted after Bappenas and the Ministry of Finance set Kemenhan's 2027 indicative ceiling at Rp139 trillion. Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin said the ideal funding need for Kemenhan and the TNI in 2027 reaches Rp667 trillion, based on priority scales and changing defense duties. The extra funds are needed for operational readiness, weapons modernization, defense force development and other priority programs. Sjafrie also cited TNI duties outside war, including disaster response and infrastructure development. Komisi I DPR Chairman Utut Adianto said his commission approved the additional request to be forwarded to the DPR Budget Committee.
