Kemendukbangga prioritizes family planning for deciles 1-4

The focus on the poorest families is aimed at reducing unmet need and speeding efforts to cut stunting.

The Ministry of Population and Family Development is prioritizing family planning services for households in income deciles 1 through 4. Minister Wihaji outlined the step in a working meeting with Commission IX of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Wednesday, saying it is intended to reduce unmet need for family planning. The government also noted an increase in active users of Long-Term Contraceptive Methods as part of efforts to strengthen sustainable family planning services. To speed the decline in stunting, the ministry is promoting coordination among Family Assistance Teams, posyandu, puskesmas, and village and urban ward governments. In the meeting, Kemendukbangga/BKKBN also reported 2025 budget realization of 98.71 percent and an unqualified audit opinion from BPK for eight consecutive years from 2017 to 2024.
