Kemendagri speeds up Papua special autonomy fund governance reforms
2025 Papua Special Autonomy Fund disbursement has reached 100%, while local governments are urged to finish 2026 second-stage requirements.
The Ministry of Home Affairs is prioritizing improvements to the governance of the Papua Special Autonomy Fund so disbursement is timely, targeted and has an impact on residents' welfare. Deputy Home Affairs Minister Ribka Haluk made the remarks at a coordination meeting on governance reform and anti-corruption measures for the Otsus Fund at the Papua governor's office in Jayapura on Thursday, which involved six provinces in Tanah Papua. According to Ribka, disbursement of the 2025 fiscal year Otsus Fund has reached 100 percent. In 2026, Kemendagri will strengthen an integrated system with the Ministry of Finance and Bappenas to link planning, budgeting, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. By mid-2026, all local governments in Tanah Papua had disbursed the first stage and are now being asked to immediately submit realization reports, performance reports and acceleration action plans so the next stage is not delayed.
