Juventus take Vicario on loan from Spurs with £8.6m option

What's next: The 29-year-old is due in Turin as Juventus pivot away from Emiliano Martinez after their Villa bid failed.

Juventus have reached a deal to take Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario on loan, with an option to make the move permanent for £8.6 million. The Italy international, 29, is set to travel to Turin to complete the switch after falling behind Antonin Kinsky in Roberto De Zerbi's pecking order. Vicario joined Spurs from Empoli for £17.2 million in 2023 and made 117 appearances for the club. His exit follows De Zerbi's decision to keep Kinsky as first-choice goalkeeper, with Martin Dubravka also arriving in July to add cover. Juventus turned to Vicario after efforts to sign Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez collapsed. Villa are closing in on Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, while Martinez is unavailable because of a finger injury.
