Johor-Singapore SEZ logged $21.8 billion in approved projects
What's next: Singapore and Malaysia plan to launch the zone's master-plan blueprint in December and hold a joint investment forum by Q1 2027.
The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone recorded RM88.83 billion, or about US$21.8 billion, in approved investments from January 2025 through June 2026, according to a joint statement after the first meeting of the Johor-Singapore Cooperation Ministerial Committee on Monday. About 45% of that total, or RM40.3 billion, has already been implemented. Authorities said the approved projects could generate 28,755 jobs, including 12,796 tied to projects already under way. The committee, co-chaired by Singapore National Development Minister Chee Hong Tat and Malaysia Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, said both sides were making progress on connectivity, talent development and investment facilitation for the cross-border zone.
