Japan held Netherlands to a 2-2 draw in the opening Group F match of the 2026 World Cup at Dallas Stadium in the United States on Monday early morning local time. Netherlands twice took the lead, but a header by Daichi Kamada in the 89th minute denied Ronald Koeman's side victory. After a goalless first half, Virgil van Dijk put Netherlands ahead in the 50th minute with a header from a Ryan Gravenberch corner. Japan equalized seven minutes later through Keito Nakamura after a move created by Takefusa Kubo.
