Jakarta Watersport Festival draws 550 participants at Danau Sunter
New this year: the Aug. 1-2 festival also combines a UMKM bazaar and entertainment to promote the capital's sports tourism.
The Jakarta provincial government is holding the Jakarta Watersport Festival 2026 at Danau Sunter in North Jakarta on Aug. 1-2, with 550 participants from various regions. The event, organized together with Persatuan Olahraga Dayung Seluruh Indonesia, aims to introduce and maximize water-based tourism in the capital. The festival combines water sports competition, entertainment, education and the creative economy in one program. Events include kayak racing, kayak touring, mini kayak, single boat, stand up paddle and dragon boat. In addition to the races, the program also features a UMKM bazaar. Danau Sunter was chosen because it is seen as having potential to be developed into a water sports and recreation tourism destination in Jakarta.
