Jakarta prepares 2 training fields for FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026

The DKI Jakarta provincial government is preparing Lapangan Banteng and GOR Soemantri Brodjonegoro as training fields for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said Jakarta International Stadium had been offered, but will not be used because of a concert. He said repairs would be made if needed. The tournament is scheduled for Sept. 23-Oct. 3, 2026, with the Premier Division held in Indonesia and the Challenge Division in Hong Kong. Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir said the tournament’s place on the FIFA calendar gives Indonesia a chance to field its best squad because clubs must release players during the official window. Indonesia is in Group A of the Premier Division with Malaysia, India and Singapore.
