Israeli airstrike in Jenin kills 3 Palestinians

Israel identified the target as Qais Bitawi, a Hamas member, while Palestinian medics were briefly held and barred from evacuations.

An Israeli airstrike in Jenin, in the northern West Bank, on Friday killed three Palestinians. The Israeli military and Shin Bet said they targeted Qais Bitawi, whom they described as a Hamas member in Jenin, and said two others were also killed in the strike on a vehicle at the site. Hamas confirmed Bitawi was one of its members and condemned the attack. The Palestinian Red Crescent said medics initially reached the scene, but Israeli forces then held them, seized medical equipment and ordered them to leave without evacuating the wounded or the bodies. The incident came amid stepped-up Israeli military operations, settler attacks and worsening tensions in the West Bank.
