Israel orders evacuation of 20 villages, strikes south Lebanon

The strikes hit areas near Nabatieh after a warning to move north of the Zahrani River as fighting with Hizbullah continued.

The Israeli military ordered residents of 20 towns and villages in south Lebanon to move north of the Zahrani River, then carried out strikes on several areas near Nabatieh on Saturday, June 13. The National News Agency reported airstrikes hit, among others, Rihan and Sujud, shortly after the evacuation warning was circulated. A day earlier, Hizbullah said its fighters were engaged in gunbattles with Israeli forces advancing toward Majdal Zoun after first shelling them with rockets. NNA also reported a large blast and artillery fire near the Ali Taher hills. According to the Lebanese government, the Israel-Hizbullah war since early March has killed more than 3.700 people in Lebanon. An April ceasefire and a conditional agreement announced last week have not stopped the fighting.
