Israel keeps bombing Lebanon, 15 killed after ceasefire
New: Israel also keeps troops up to 10 kilometers inside southern Lebanon despite an accord calling for fighting to stop on all fronts.
Israel continued strikes in southern Lebanon on Friday, hours after a ceasefire with Hizbullah was announced and after a U.S.-Iran understanding called for an end to fighting on all fronts. Lebanese news agency NNA reported 15 people were killed in attacks across several southern areas, including Nabatieh district. The Israeli military said it struck Hizbullah targets and infrastructure overnight. At the same time, Israel published a security zone map extending about 10 kilometers into Lebanese territory and said its forces would remain there to face threats. A senior Israeli official also acknowledged intense negotiations with the administration of President Donald Trump over the deployment.
