Isidor lifts Sunderland past Fulham 1-0 for first league win

What’s new: The result ended Sunderland’s 17-year wait for a Premier League victory over Fulham and left the visitors without a point.

Wilson Isidor came off the bench to score the only goal as Sunderland beat Fulham 1-0 on Saturday for their first league win of the season. The decisive moment came in the second half when fellow substitute Habib Diarra drove forward and squared for Isidor, who fired past Bernd Leno after earlier hitting the post from close range. Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris had turned to his bench after a tense, low-chance opening spell. Fulham threatened through Josh King and later Gonzalo García, but Robin Roefs was rarely tested and Nordi Mukiele made a key block to stop a near-certain chance. The win also ended Sunderland’s 17-year run without a Premier League victory against Fulham.
