Iran strikes U.S. bases in 5 Gulf states and Jordan
Kuwait intercepted airborne targets, Jordan shot down four missiles, and the threat around the Strait of Hormuz widened.
Iran launched a wave of retaliatory strikes against U.S. military facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan and Oman on Monday (13/7), after a fresh U.S. attack on Iranian territory a day earlier. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the targets included Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, military facilities in Juffair, Bahrain, Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan, as well as air radar and ship-detection systems in Oman. Kuwait said it was intercepting enemy airborne targets, while Jordan reported that four Iranian missiles were shot down in its airspace with no casualties or damage. Earlier, CENTCOM said the U.S. strike was aimed at weakening Iran's ability to attack international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
