Iran prepares option to strike US military assets in Europe

Bulgaria and Cyprus are cited as possible targets if Washington attacks again, as efforts to reopen Hormuz remain stalled.

Iran is reported to be preparing options to strike U.S. military assets in Europe if President Donald Trump escalates the war. The Financial Times, cited by Antara and other media on Wednesday, wrote that Iranian forces are examining targets in southeast Europe, including Bulgaria after the country approved use of Bezmer Air Base by U.S. refueling aircraft. Cyprus is also under consideration because a British air base on the island was hit by a drone in March. The report also said Iran is studying the possibility of targeting underwater fiber-optic cables in the Strait of Hormuz. The development comes as efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and Tehran-Washington talks remain deadlocked; Trump said there are no talks under way or scheduled.
