Ipda MA detained after crash kills toddler in Bone
Police are still probing whether brake failure played a role in the crash that left a 4-year-old dead and injured two others.
Ipda MA, a member of Polres Bone, has been detained in the Professional and Security Division cell at Polres Bone after allegedly hitting a motorcycle carrying a mother and two children in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi. The crash occurred on Wednesday (5/8) at about 14.00 WITA at the intersection of Jalan Ahmad Yani-Besse Kajuara, Tanete Riattang District. The motorcycle ridden by MS (19) was slowing and stopped at the intersection when the car driven by Ipda MA struck it from behind. A 4-year-old toddler was treated at RSUD Tenriawaru Watampone but later died. Satlantas Polres Bone said the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, including a suspected problem with the vehicle's braking system.
