Interpol fugitive from Australia arrested while fleeing Bali

The 55-year-old used a fake Brazilian passport, hid in a private jet toilet and had his flight to Mozambik stopped.

Ngurah Rai Immigration Office arrested an Australian citizen identified as AP, 55, who was on Interpol's wanted list as he tried to fly from Bali to Maputo, Mozambik, on a private jet. Officers detected irregularities when AP used a Brazilian passport under the name GAM that had no record of entry into Indonesia. As the inspection was under way, the passengers slipped back onto the aircraft and prepared for departure. Airport authorities then ordered flight N917CJ back to the VIP Terminal, and AP was found hiding in the toilet. A database match showed his identity was 100 percent consistent with the Interpol list. Ngurah Rai Immigration is now coordinating with Bareskrim Polri, the Polri International Relations Division and the Australian Federal Police to deepen the investigation into alleged transnational crime and large-scale narcotics smuggling.
