Indramayu deputy regent detained in Rp18.8 billion DPRD perks case
Kejati Jabar also detained IH, while one other suspect missed questioning after falling ill.
Jawa Barat High Prosecutor's Office detained Indramayu Deputy Regent Syaefudin in a case involving alleged corruption in housing and transportation allowances for the Indramayu DPRD in the 2022-2025 budget years. Syaefudin, a Golkar politician who previously served as Indramayu DPRD chairman in 2019-2024, was detained after questioning in Bandung on Wednesday. In addition to him, investigators also detained IH. Kejati Jabar estimates the case caused regional financial losses of Rp18.798.515.457. Investigators said the allowance increases were allegedly set without supporting documents for budget needs and before a reassessment was completed. Syaefudin, IH and one other suspect face corruption charges and related provisions of the Criminal Code.
