Indonesia wins Asian Taekwondo championships in Jakarta with 26 medals
The host team collected 5 golds, 4 silvers and 17 bronzes at the WT G2 event, which drew 531 athletes from 36 countries.
Indonesia won the 8th Asian Taekwondo Indonesia Open Championships 2026 at Tennis Indoor GBK, Jakarta, after collecting 26 medals from Aug. 1-5. The haul consisted of five golds, four silvers and 17 bronzes, putting Indonesia ahead of the Philippines in second and Australia in third. Indonesia's five gold medals were won by Muhammad Hafiz Fachrur Rhozy, Azka Hannayaka, Andi Sultan, Muhammad Raihan Fadila and Aqila Ramadani. The World Taekwondo G2 event drew 531 athletes from 36 countries and served as a ranking-points tournament for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Pengurus Besar Taekwondo Indonesia said the result combined athletic achievement with Indonesia's success as host.
