Indonesia urges citizens in Saudi Arabia to limit travel
The Foreign Ministry is preparing contingency plans if conditions worsen; as of Oct. 12, no Indonesians had been reported killed or injured.
The Foreign Ministry urged Indonesian citizens in Saudi Arabia to step up vigilance and limit nonessential travel after Houthi attacks on several areas of Saudi Arabia, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Indonesians were also told to avoid vulnerable locations, especially airport areas, recheck flight status with airlines, and follow official information from Saudi authorities and the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh. The embassy also barred Indonesians from photographing, recording or sharing information on missile and drone interceptions or impact sites, warning of possible legal consequences. The ministry said that as of Oct. 12 no Indonesian nationals had been killed or injured, while it prepared contingency plans if the situation worsened. The attacks were reported to have killed 13 people and injured about 300.
