Indonesia U-16 Women face Thailand in Srikandi Merdeka Cup final

Indonesia's U-16 women's national team will face Thailand in the 2026 Srikandi Merdeka Cup final at Supersoccer Arena, Kudus, Jawa Tengah, on Sunday. Indonesia coach Timo Scheunemann said the match is important to gauge how close Garuda Pertiwi's quality is to Thailand, which he said has developed women's soccer for more than 30 years. Indonesia reaches the final with four matches unbeaten, having scored 14 goals and not conceded. Thailand is also unbeaten in four games, with 15 goals and only one goal conceded. Timo said the Indonesia squad is a new generation selected through a systematic process and trained for a long-term program with PSSI and Djarum Foundation Bakti Olahraga.
