Indonesia money supply grows 10.8% in May to Rp10.415,9 trillion

BI said credit growth accelerated to 10.8% and net foreign assets rose 5.2%, both faster than in April.

Bank Indonesia said broad money supply, or M2, in May 2026 reached Rp10.415,9 trillion, rising 10.8 percent year on year, faster than 9.2 percent in April. The increase was supported by a sharper rise in narrow money, or M1, which grew 15.3 percent, and quasi money, which rose 6 percent. BI said M2 movements were driven mainly by credit distribution and an increase in net foreign assets. Credit grew 10.8 percent, up from 9.4 percent in the previous month, while net foreign assets increased 5.2 percent from 3.7 percent. BI also reported adjusted reserve money, or M0, at Rp2.214,6 trillion in May, up 14.2 percent, supported by growth in commercial bank deposits at BI and currency in circulation.
